San Francisco Bay Area SCUBA lessons featuring PADI diver educational programs

The PADI Divemaster Course is a fun and exciting way to gain a higher level of personal skill, and is the first major step to become a diving professional. A certified divemaster can supervise and assist with both training and non-training dive related activities in a variety of positions.

As a Divemaster candidate you will perform an internship assignment assisting the instructor in a real-life certification process. The course consists of three modules: water skills assessment, knowledge development, and practical application. This is a demanding class, and your schedule will be determined by both class needs and your level of commitment to the program. The divemaster candidate must assist with at least two complete open water classes (four weekends), in addition to outside study and completion of personal watermanship skills.

Prerequisite:

18 years of age or older
PADI Rescue Diver certification, or equivalent
60 logged dives by certification date
approved diving medical exam (within the last 12 months)

Materials Needed:

PADI Divemaster Manual
Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving
Knowledge Workbook
Recreational Dive Planners (both wheel and table)

Highly Recommended:

Divemaster video
pocket mask and first aid kit
PADI Instructor Manual

By this level, divers should own most of their own SCUBA gear (including 3mm wetsuit for pool activities and 6.5mm wetsuit for ocean activities). Note: We do have most of the necessary SCUBA gear available to rent.
