DEV BHARGAVA
Master Scuba Diver Trainer and EFR Instructor
Dev fell in love with scuba diving in 2010 and has spent the last 10 years diving all over the world from Hawaii to the Cayman Islands to Thailand to the beautiful Monterey Bay. Dev's favorite underwater animals are whale sharks and manta rays.
When not underwater, Dev likes hiking, reading, studying computer science, and daydreaming about his next diving adventure.
NINA HUGHES
PADI/EFR Instructor
Nina is a PADI and Emergency First Response Instructor, who grew up with a love for all things water. She found scuba diving while traveling South East Asia, instantly fell in love and knew very quickly she wanted to become a professional. Prior to Harbor Dive she trained and worked in Utila, Honduras and loves being able to continue diving in her native Bay Area.
SESSION MWAMUFIYA
PADI Staff Instructor and Tec Trimix Instructor
Session is a PADI IDC Staff Instructor as well as a Tec Trimix Instructor, with a passion for diving in wrecks and exploring the depths of the blue yonder. He has explored sunken ships, an underwater forest, and a myriad of serene sites at depth. Session stumbled into scuba diving as he was looking for activities to fill his weekends, and that was the beginning of his 17+ years of underwater adventure.
When he’s not teaching a scuba class or enjoying a fun dive, Session is jet setting to various parts of the US as a management consultant.
MIKE AVERY
PFI Freediving Instructor
Mike Avery is a Performance Freediving International instructor and stunt performer. Teaching Red Bull athletes, Hollywood actors, stunt performers, spearfishers, freedivers and those new to freediving. Through the curriculum developed by Performance Freediving International, the world leader in freedive training. As a student you will learn how to relax into the realm of apnea, how to control your breathing and how this can be used in your everyday life. Mike will teach you what it takes to be a safe and proficient freediver, step by step, one breath at a time.
Mike knows how to get you to reach your goals, whether that be getting comfortable in the water, learning how to manage stressful big wave hold downs, helping students accomplish over 5 minute breath holds and to reach depths of 130 feet, or how to move and look good underwater.
In addition to teaching PFI courses, Mike is a Hollywood stunt performer on such projects as the upcoming James Cameron Avatar sequels, has been a commercial diver, a certified SCUBA diver since 1990, is swift water rescue certified, a triathlete and a four time Ironman finisher. Mike is also a pioneer in action sports, being one of the few high altitude alpine freedivers in the country.
